Equipment care

Cleaning and disinfecting equipment are not the same

Understand the difference and what to check before choosing a product for your floor.

Two different goals

The CDC distinguishes cleaning, which removes dirt and some germs, from disinfecting, which uses products to kill germs. Do not use the terms interchangeably in procedures or product information. The appropriate process depends on the surface, use and product instructions.

Read the label and the manual

Check the equipment manufacturer’s approved surfaces and the product label. If disinfection is required, verify that purpose, its conditions and the specified contact time. Wiping a surface does not automatically establish a result. Do not mix products; follow applicable safety and ventilation directions.

Avoid unverified claims

GymSupply Wipes is presented as equipment wipes. No verified antibacterial, virucidal or certification claims are published. Request documentation and confirm compatibility and use before including them in a specific procedure. This guide does not replace manufacturer instructions or the centre’s responsible staff.
