Observe the route
Walk through the floor as a member would and note where each activity ends. Look for accessible points away from moving exercise areas. There is no universal spacing rule; layout and equipment determine placement.
Keep circulation clear
Check that dispensers do not obstruct exits, walkways or machine operating space. Follow the centre’s safety and accessibility requirements. Confirm stand stability and compatibility rather than improvising a location that could tip or interfere with exercise.
Assign checks
Placement alone does not ensure availability. Assign responsibility, check times and a replenishment process. Record recurring problems to adjust the layout. A convenient but empty point cannot serve its purpose; extra points also need maintenance ownership.
